An Internet business, just like any other conventional set-up, must be marketed. If we're real lucky, people will stumble across our site by chance. But there are billions of pages on the web dealing with everything from how to catch worms to how satellites work. Depending on being found by chance is a very long shot. We need to improve the odds through applied internet marketing, using the most apposite internet marketing tools available ..
Internet marketing is crucial to online business success. There are numerous strategies available, but they all stem from a few methods. Here's a list of possibilities (listed in random order).
Paid bulk mailing, using email campaigns offered by organizations who have built a large opt-in list. Do some due diligence to make sure they are really mailing to opt-ins and are not in the spamming business.
Social Networking. This is the latest strategy. These sites attract more daily traffic than Google. The more familiar sites are Facebook, Squidoo, Badoo, MySpace, Flickr, and Friendster, but there are more than 100 social networking sites, catering to various interests.
Link exchange and list building. This is extremely effective for promoting a website, but takes time to achieve. Submitting well-written and original articles to ezines is a good way to start.
Traffic Exchange. This is perhaps the easiest method to adopt, particularly when first starting out, though it is also used extensively by experienced marketers. There are many choices available, and we have listed a few on this page. Free services don't usually lead to appreciable results, but are a good starting point. Paid options yield more satisfying outcomes.
Pay per click or PPC. Using adwords to market your site is a viable and effective tool, but needs specialized skill to implement properly and can be fairly expensive, and downright disastrous if you don't know what you're doing..
Viral Marketing. Also dependent on a list, this method involves recruiting contacts through building a 'downline.' There are many such services available, but to start you off we have included some links to such opportunities on this page.
Building your own opt-in list. This essentially involves developing your own exclusive market by inviting people to opt-in and give you their name and email address. You can then send them your special offers, promotions and information. Since they have 'opted' to receive your email, it is not tagged as spam, but the emails could still be filtered out by the individual's spam filters.
SEO. This internet marketing tool, which depends on organic search, needs knowledge on how to optimize a web site, and can only be applied if you have control over your own web site. A google search on 'SEO' will present a wealth of information on this topic. SEO by itself is of limited benefit. Getting linked by other high-traffic sites brings home the trophy.
It is important to realize that an Internet business, like any other, takes time to grow, and needs application and effort. Claims by some marketers that you can make money after 15 minutes by implementing whatever they are selling, and make $30,000.00 per month after 3 months by doing nothing are pure hype. They are venal statements and cannot be substantiated.

implementing more than two strategies at any one time, unless you enjoy

cry of those who get involved in too many Internet marketing strategies. It is
much more advisable to select one or two, and work those properly, than to try
and market your business through multiple methods. Fatigue and confusion are
